About Me
A quiet observerHey, I am the quiet observer of life in a village.
I have been writing for over 34 years, not including my schooling! My passion for using the pen has always been with me. Writing and learning history is my favourite pastime. I am also a little passionate about cake and tea rooms.
The Tea Rose was inspired by the book, by Jennifer Donnelly. I have not owned a tea shop, but it was always my dream. This is the next best thing.
I write blogs, columns, articles and I’m a mystery diner. I can help build businesss, review and share my stories.
10 handwritten columns go out businesses that I have reviewed, it keeps the mystery.
I would love to help your business and you will be added to my website … if you keep this secret going!

Mystery Dining ( Free with Meal)
FREE MEAL BARTER
I visit your business anonymously and enjoy your food and drink as a regular guest.
During my visit, I take in the full experience including your staff, service, atmosphere and the feel of your space.
I then write a positive and thoughtful column based on your food and drink, your team, your environment and any history or story behind your business.
Each feature is written in my signature style and shared with my mailing list.
I also create a handwritten version, adding a personal and memorable touch.
All reviews are fair, respectful and focused on highlighting what makes your business special.
The Tea Rose Club
A quiet invitation… The Tea Rose Letter Club
I wanted to share something a little different with you. A quieter space. A slower idea.
The Tea Rose Letter Club
It’s for those who miss handwritten words, thoughtful notes, and the simple act of putting pen to paper. In a world that feels fast and noisy, this is a softer way of connecting.
What it is
A small, gentle club for people who love writing, stationery, and meaningful moments. You don’t need to be a perfect writer or have anything fancy, just a willingness to slow down and write.
How it works
When you join, you’ll receive occasional prompts and ideas. You might write to another member, leave a note for someone to find, write to a local shop, or simply write for yourself. There’s no pressure and no strict rules.
Why I created it
Because small things still matter. A handwritten letter, a kind word, a quiet moment. And because small businesses need cheerleaders. Sometimes being noticed is everything.
What you’ll receive
Gentle writing prompts, letter ideas, seasonal inspiration, updates from The Tea Rose, and monthly Sunday evening meet ups at 6pm. A quiet space to sit, write, and connect.
If it feels like something you’d enjoy, you’re very welcome to join.
We’re starting small, quietly, and with care.
