Local Dog Walks
Safe Solo Walks
Living in Cranleigh means we are lucky. The fields, the woodland, open skies. But when you walk daily especially if you’re on your own I wanted to find solo safe walks for you. I speak to many dog walkers and they tell me of secret walks, and quieter spaces. This is not walks just in Cranleigh, these walks are all over Surrey.
Walks I come back to. . .
Surrey is beautiful, I am documenting for your enjoyment too.

A Quiet Observer xx
Elstead & Lakes
Elstead Common There are so many memories waiting for me in Elstead. This was where Mick and I first made a home together. A tiny one bedroom flat, filled with hope that I couldn’t fully see at the time. He became the man who quietly saved me after years of hurt and...
Titanic & More
The Phillips Memorial, Godalming: A Quiet Corner with a Titanic Story Some places whisper their history rather than shout it. The Phillips Memorial in Godalming is one of them. Tucked beside the ancient Church of St Peter and St...
A Roman Reminder
Day 2 of 52 Walks with Grace – Farley Heath Roman Temple Today Grace and I headed to Farley Heath in search of the Roman temple. We got completely lost, and I had to use AI to help me find it. The funny thing is, ChatGPT got it wrong, so we ended up wandering around...
A wander into Somewhere!
52 Walks with Grace – SOMEWHERE! Blackheath Sometimes the best places are the ones you never meant to find. Today started with a change of plan. It was already close to 30 degrees and Grace had absolutely no intention of getting up early, so our bigger walk...
A Stroll to Afold & Loxwood
A Morning in Alfold and Loxwood: Where History Still Walks Beside You I had no idea this was such a hidden gem. There are places that don’t shout for your attention. They simply wait. Alfold is one of them. Nestled on the Surrey and Sussex border, Alfold has quietly...
A SHERE JOY
I Didn’t Realise I Had Walked Into a Story There are days when you set out with no expectations, and somehow you come home with a memory you’ll keep forever. Today was one of those days. I found myself wandering through the tiny Surrey village of Shere, not really...
SOLO DOG TRIP
A trip to Bosham - Emsworth & Woodmancote There’s something about doing something for the first time that feels equal parts brave and slightly unhinged. This was mine. Day one, it was just me and Grace heading to Winkworth Arboretum. Not just for the walk, but so...
DOGS & BLUEBELLS
This is beautiful. It already feels like a Tea Rose column. I’ll gently shape it into your voice, keeping that calm, reflective tone and a soft thread of awareness. Winterfold As I opened the door to let my dog out at Winterfold, something moved through me. A quiet...
PAW PARK
Park for Paws, Cranleigh I booked Park for Paws in advance. One of those quiet decisions you make earlier in the day when you just know it will make things easier later. Not rushed. Not last minute. Just a simple thought that...
KNOWLE PARK
Knowle Park, Cranleigh A quiet constant in the village In the centre of Cranleigh sits Knowle park. Its not loud, not showy, just beauty at its best. It’s the kind of place that feels the same even when life doesn’t. You walk in and the noise drops. The trees rise...
