The Dog Food Bank, Cranleigh

This is so close to my heart.

Here in Cranleigh we have a gem for your four legged friends.

It’s been set up by Richard and Tracey, who live locally with their cocker spaniel, Rosco.

Just normal people who love their dog and wanted to do something useful.

And that’s exactly what it is.

Useful.

What it is

It’s a simple, local dog food bank.

There’s no sign up.

No forms.

No criteria.

If you need food, you go and take what you need.

That’s it.

How it works

The food comes from donations, so it changes all the time.

Some days there’s more, some days less.

Some brands you’ll recognise, some you won’t.

You take what’s there.

If you’re able to, you can also leave something for someone else.

There’s no system beyond that.

Why it matters

It’s been created as a completely judgement-free space.

No one is asking questions.

No one is checking anything.

It’s just there for when things feel a bit tight.

And I think that’s the part that stands out.

It’s been built with understanding.

Still growing

It’s early days.

They’re still building it, still looking for support, ideas, donations, and people who might be able to help behind the scenes.

It’s not a big organisation.

It’s something local, trying to grow into something steady.

If you’re nearby

It’s one of those things that’s worth knowing about.

If you need it, it’s there.

If you don’t, but you have a little extra, it’s the kind of place you might quietly add to next time you’re out.

Nothing complicated.

Just something that works.
