Vintage Wade Porcelain “Papa” Tortoise Trinket Box • Made in England
The Tea Rose Story
Papa Tortoise
Some treasures are in absolutely no hurry to be discovered.
Made in England by Wade, this wonderfully characterful old tortoise has been quietly plodding through the decades, carrying a little secret beneath his patterned shell.
Lift his shell and he becomes a tiny trinket box, the sort of curious object once made to sit on a dressing table holding a ring, a few coins or some other miniature treasure.
Turn him over and you’ll find the original “Wade Porcelain • Made in England” mark underneath.
He’s beautifully old-fashioned, slightly eccentric and enormously endearing. Exactly the sort of forgotten little object we love bringing back into the light at The Tea Rose.
Details: Vintage Wade Porcelain tortoise covered trinket box. Made in England. Removable shell/lid. Vintage condition with age-related wear. Please study photographs as they form part of the description.
